Exodus 2: Raising A Deliverer Part 4

In Exodus 2:11, Moses steps out of Pharaoh’s palace and into the suffering of his people. This was not a sudden emotional outburst, but the result of an inner progression shaped by faith. Moses knew who he was, identified with God’s people, and allowed compassion to awaken his heart. Yet compassion alone could not explain his costly choices. Scripture reveals that Moses’ faith unfolded deliberately—refusing Egypt’s identity, aligning with God’s people, accepting reproach, and fixing his eyes on God’s reward. His faith was real, but still unfinished, because his patience had not yet matured. Ultimately, Moses points us beyond himself to Jesus Christ—the greater Deliverer—whose obedience was perfect and whose timing never failed. The passage calls us not merely to admire Moses’ faith, but to trust Christ enough to wait on God’s timing in our own lives.
