Our  Story.

Our Beginning.

Ukiah Bible Church began in January 1994 as a small home Bible study in Ukiah, California. As people gathered around the teaching of God's Word, prayer, and fellowship, the group quickly grew and soon moved to the back room of a local restaurant. On February 13, 1994, the church held its first Sunday worship service at Bartlett Hall in the Ukiah Senior Center, with approximately 150 people in attendance.

From the very beginning, Ukiah Bible Church has been committed to the faithful teaching of Scripture and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  For more than thirty years, God has used Ukiah Bible Church to proclaim His Word, disciple believers, and share the hope of the gospel throughout the Ukiah Valley and beyond.

God's Faithfulness Through the Years

As the church continued to grow, God faithfully provided leaders, meeting places, and opportunities for ministry. What began as a small Bible study became a thriving church family committed to knowing Christ and making Him known.
In 2000, the church began searching for a permanent home. The following year, God provided the property at 2140 Arroyo Road, formerly known as the Deerwood Swim and Tennis Club. Since January 2001, this location has served as the home of Ukiah Bible Church and the base for its ministry throughout the Ukiah Valley and beyond.

Throughout the years, the Lord has faithfully guided the church through seasons of growth, change, and transition. He has continually provided pastors, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, teachers, and countless faithful servants who have invested their lives in building up the body of Christ.

In 2016, Ukiah Bible Church welcomed Pastor Dan Bohannon as Senior Pastor.  Since then, the church has continued to grow in biblical understanding, spiritual maturity, and its commitment to Christ-centered ministry.
In 2025, Dave Dick joined the church staff as Executive Pastor, helping oversee the administration and ministry operations of the church. In 2026, the church further strengthened its leadership by recognizing and installing an elder and additional deacons to assist in shepherding and caring for the church family.

Where We Are Today

Today, Ukiah Bible Church is a multi-generational church family united by a desire to glorify God through the worship of Jesus Christ. Through expository preaching, discipleship, prayer, worship, and genuine relationships, we seek to help people grow in their love for God and one another.

Our leadership is committed to shepherding the church with both truth and compassion—faithfully teaching God's Word while caring for the hearts of His people. We believe spiritual growth happens best within the context of loving relationships, where believers encourage one another, bear one another's burdens, and pursue Christ together.
As we look to the future, our desire remains unchanged: to glorify God, proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, equip believers for faithful service, and lovingly share the hope of Christ with those who have yet to know Him.
We are grateful for God's faithfulness throughout our history and look forward with confidence to all that He will continue to accomplish for His glory.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." — Psalm 127:1
To Christ alone be the glory.
